The Government of Canada’s has a desire to move away from social housing and focus on private home ownership and market-based housing. The Assembly of First Nations continues to pursue a balanced housing continuum that moves from social housing, to the care and control of band-owned housing, to affordable housing options and then private home ownership. It has been estimated that 25 to 30 per cent of First Nations have the willingness and ability to explore this potential.
MC Quarters is committed to working with First Nation bodies (local, regional and territorial) to illustrate the options and opportunities currently available or that we can develop for First Nations to meet the demands of their individual and collective housing needs. Our company will work with the First Nations communities and our strategy will allow them to effectively take charge of all aspects of housing to the benefit of the community and its members.
